Cutting Ball Theater faces possible closure due to dwindling funding landscape for theater in the wake of the pandemic, despite efforts to apply for more grants than ever and seeing inspiring ticket sales . As one of the last arts organizations in the Tenderloin, we emphasize the importance of preserving radical, experimental art and are seeking community support to raise $200,000 by June to sustain operations and continue producing experimental works. Sing your favorite tunes with friends and the community, knowing that every note sung is a contribution toward a brighter future for Cutting Ball Theater and the artists we support. Hosted by artists from the Cutting Ball community: playwright Lauren Gunderson, Chester Vanderbox AKA Nic Sommerfeld, and Polly Amber Ross AKA Chris Steele. Together, we’ll create lasting memories and support Cutting Ball Theater’s mission to inspire, innovate, and uplift through the power of theater. GET TICKETSCB COMMONS Cutting Ball Theater announces the start of CB Commons, a Free Community Space available for Office/Meetings, Community Gatherings, Self-Tapes, Rehearsals and more. At CBT we understand that one of our greatest resources is our space and we want to make it available for community members to use it in our season’s dark spots. Whether it be for a business meeting, actor rehearsal, community gathering, and more, we want our neighbors to have access to this space . We provide Wifi, bathrooms, printers, tables, and more.
